While Chromecast is very practical when it comes to enjoying videos in a large screen. This gives you the chance to watch TV shows from Netflix or from your favorite streaming service on a TV that is not a smart TV. Unfortunately, Chromecast doesn’t support VPN so in order to be able to connect to your VPN service, you will have to set up the connection on a different device, and then connect the Chromecast via that device. One option is to get a router that you can use to connect your Chromecast experience easily. Otherwise, you can follow the below steps:
The two options that we recommend are the following:
1. Setup the VPN on a Mac or a computer running Windows 10. You can see the content in Chrome and cast from the Chrome browser to Chromecast, which is connected to your TV. This is the easiest solution and it works for both Android and iOS devices.
It is also worth mentioning that some people have reported that if you use the Chrome Canary browser works well when you are casting content from Netflix. You can download Chrome Canary from https://www.google.com.au/chrome/browser/canary.html
After downloading it, you can click the 3 dots in the top right of the browser. You can select cast and then select your Chrome cast device. The content should start playing on your TV or on the device the Chromecast is connected to.
2. The other option is to setup the VPN on a mobile device (Android or iOS) and then stream to the Chromecast from SlingTV, Hulu or any app that you are using. Keep in mind that the option to unblock Netflix to stream content from the US library doesn’t work on some devices because Netflix has recently updated their app to prevent this.
